Sayonara Secret

And now... a confessional.
I went to a Physiology/Pathology class at my free-spirited massage
therapy school and as we learned about the evils of antiperspirant, i
realized that I was the only one wearing aforementioned cursed item in the
class. The jury is still out on whether or not antiperspirant will actually
cause breast cancer. The argument is that most breast cancers develop closest
to the underarm and only about 6% develop furthest around from this area.
Antiperspirant is toted to be causing a buildup of toxins and also include
parabens and aluminum, both of them potentially harmful... The fact remains
that 1. it is a chemical I am applying daily to newly shorn pits and
2. it isn't natural to not sweat.
I began about a week ago, using a man's deodorant, sans anti-perspirant.
I've tried this before, but I smelled terribly. Why? In truth, I think
I worried about stinking, and in my worry actually made myself sweat.
This time I am actively curbing my thought process away from my pits and
the potential odoriforous-ness of them. Truly I am finding I can go all day
and smell okay when the day is done.
I may come back to this endeavor from time to time, depending on future
findings, etc. I've been told by a number of friends there is a period of
adjustment in switching from Antiperspirant to deodorant. I'm not so sure
about this. I am, however, my only test subject. I found that simply having
confidence that it will work is vitally important, however.
